The Place You Always Pass

I too am taking the Sketchbook Skool course "Exploring" and Pat's post inspired me to share today's sketching in front of Sequoya Library which I pass most days. It was rainy and cold today so the sketch was done inside the car, but I enjoyed the experience. It's a place I never would have been inspired to draw before.
Stillman and Birn sketchbook, watercolor first, micron pen on top.

  1. I know just where you are parked! Nice sketch and you are really good at simplifying a complex scene. And lots of tricky cars, too!!

  2. I forgot to say I think it sometimes works better to do the watercolor first and then do the pen. You can get a more interesting and lively sketch that way.

  3. I love the vibrancy of your lines and colors ! Certainly ups the mood on an otherwise dreary day.
