About

Urban Sketchers - Madison (Wisconsin) is a group of local folks who enjoy drawing with a focus on sketching our city from life and sharing those sketches with others.  Originally our group was christened Draw: Madison by our founder, Dana Petit, who was inspired by the international organization, Urban Sketchers, to start a group like it in Madison.  Over the years we have sketched all around town, indoors and out and sometimes in nearby communities.  We have met many other sketchers who also enjoy taking the time to draw in the medium of their choice what they are seeing on location.  Sketchers 18 years or older with any level of drawing ability are welcome to come to our sketch dates which are posted under Events on our blog and also on our Facebook page. We usually meet twice a month and there are no dues but occasionally there might be a small admission charge depending on the venue.  As a regional chapter of Urban Sketchers we support its Manifesto and are committed to helping others "See the world, one drawing at a time".
